The Ghostly Story of Bethany-Anne

Washed up from Penarth in 1976 the former navy vessel known then as Black Swan had broke free from it's mooring swinging round hard against the harbour wall before crushing the owners wife leg. This is a tale of ghoulish happenings and the boat has subsequently gained the title of a 'Jonah'. In nautical terms this translate to bad luck and something that brings trouble. When the boat broke free from Penarth in 1976 it was varried by the tidal stream of the Bristol Channel eventually ending up in Sand Bay, Weston-super-Mare where it remained for some time buried in the gravel bed of the beach.
