When not sailing...
One of our club members has a passion for thrill seeking and an alternative to the calming of the sea.
From the deep blue to the sky blue Pete Emery has soared into the clouds for some time and if he's not driving lorries for a living (don't call him before 10am in the morning, you have been warned.....) and on the water there's nothing more than he enjoys than being several thousand feet up in the sky paragliding.
This year Pete visited the annual paragliding extravaganza held in St Helaire in the south of France.
He attended together with his son Mark and Pete finally enjoyed the fruits of his labour having spent most of 2016 converting a transit van into a luxurious camper which he took to the week long event.
The event includes for thousands of followers from all over the world who enter & participate. It is not for the faint hearted and it's not entirely normal! There are those who throw themselves off mountain tops in a rig designed as a dinosaur, a car, a camper van, the list goes on.
Pete has kindly donated media from the event, all as for what is shown below.
He is taking bookings for tandem flights so if your nerve is up for it give him a shout.
