The Recovery of Blue Mink
As some of you may well have noticed down our river was a mast poking up through the top of the river Brue (see apt picture below....nicely posed for by Chris).
It was a known fact that Blue Mink had hit the bed of the river and was in dire need of resurrecting
A rescue plan was hatched and thus the (almost) A-Team was assembled in the shape and form of Pete Emery, Chris Bergin and Dave Lewis.
A plan ensued.
a.) Go out on first tide.
b.) Scoop out entire contents of river Brue from boat.
c.) Get said boat afloat with flotation devices.
d.) Return on second tide.
e.) Die of exhaustion.
f.) Kill Phil.
After a gruelling day the mission proved to be of great success. Following the scoop out of mud from the inside of the boat it was then necessary to dig under the stern to make room for two large blue drums and a further twenty (yes - twenty!) smaller ones.
Thankfully she came afloat and bobbed to the surface. It was then for Dave Lewis to give Blue Mink & the merry-men a well earned tow back to the visitors pontoon
Phil has never looked so happy.
As for his fellow rescuers, well, you make up your own minds........
THE END !
