On The Water

Sailing
The River Parrett and the Bristol Channel provide excellent waters in which to sail. A full programme of racing and cruising is arranged during the summer season.
Members are encouraged to take part in racing as this provides an opportunity to put into practice a range of sailing and navigational skills. Taster days can be provided to try before you sign up and you are welcome to crew for existing members looking for assistance

Gig Rowing
The Cornish Pilot Gig is a six oared rowing boat built of leaf elm, 32 feet (9.8m) long with a beam of four feet ten inches. It is recognised as one of the first shore based lifeboats that went out to vessels in distress with recorded rescues going back as far as the late 17th century.
We currently operate 4 gig boats with launching facilities from the shore with age groups ranging from those in their teens to those who are in their sixties!

Fishing
Burnham On Sea Motor Boat & Sailing Club are affiliated with Burnham Boat Owners Sea Angling Association who are a small boat club that has been established since 1976.
The aim of the Association is to provide a club for small boat owners and to further the sport of small boat angling. Expeditions extend to Bridgwater Bay and beyond with catches including Plaice, Rays, Gurnard, Bass & Cod.
